West Ham United striker Andy Carroll was allegedly threatened by two armed bikers wielding a gun as he drove home after training.

The 27-year-old England star was reportedly confronted by two motorcyclists, one brandishing the weapon, in Chigwell on Wednesday afternoon.

He was threatened by the pair at a junction as he drove home alone in his £100,000 Mercedes G-Wagon, the MailOnline reports.

The bikers allegedly waved the gun at him and demanded he pull his car over.

But Carroll managed to escape and sped off back to West Ham’s training ground in Rush Green, near Chadwell Heath where he ran to reception to seek help from security staff.

A source reportedly told the MailOnline that the striker was left “shaken and stunned” after the incident but was not physically harmed.

Carroll, who has a one-year-old son with his partner reality TV star Billi Mucklow, was said to be recovering at home with his family on Wednesday night.
