A man has died after he was repeatedly stabbed outside a block of flats in south London.

Scotland Yard said the victim, aged in his 30s, was attacked in West Norwood on Sunday afternoon.

Medics fought to save him but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police and paramedics were called to reports of a stabbing in Dunbar Street at 5.40pm.

London’s Air Ambulance was also scrambled to the scene and landed outside the Saint Matthew's Roman Catholic Church.

A Met Police spokesman said: “A man believed to be in his 30s was found suffering from stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Next of kin have been informed. A post mortem examination will take place in due course.

“No arrests; enquiries continue.”
