A woman has been arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm after an alleged assault at a central London branch of KFC.

The son of newly elected Conservative Kensington MP Victoria Borwick was one of two people believed to have been assaulted by a group of three women in Coventry Street at about 10.10pm on Saturday, June 27.

Tom Borwick, 27, and a 28-year-old woman told police they were involved in an altercation with the group while in the queue at the KFC branch in Leicester Square.

One of the women allegedly punched Mr Borwick in the head a number of times before they were all ordered to leave the restaurant by security.

Several minutes later, the women came back and continued the attack on the pavement, it is claimed, with the female victim pushed to the ground.

As Mr Borwick tried to defend her, police said he was pushed and fell unconscious, with the suspects continuing to kick him before officers arrived.

Both Mr Borwick and his companion suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital.

A 32-year-old woman was arrested on Monday, July 13, and was bailed until late September while enquiries continue.
