An artist was allegedly groped as she sketched a masterpiece in the National Gallery.

The woman, 20, told security staff she was sexually assaulted as she worked in room 34, which houses works by Constable, Turner and Gainsborough.

Police were called to the gallery in Trafalgar Square at about 5.30pm on Friday and a man was arrested.

Kwanwoo Kim, 27, a South Korean national, was appearing today at Camberwell Green magistrates’ court charged with sexual touching.
