Two young children were allegedly assaulted by a stranger who complained about them putting their feet on the seat of a Tube train.

Police said the children, aged four and five, were shouted at by a man as they travelled with their mother on a Metropolitan Line train from Liverpool Street to Uxbridge.

The man is said to have been unhappy that the children had their feet on the seats, and grabbed one of them by the ankle and the other by the knee in a bid to physically remove them from the seats.

Police have now released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident at about 5.20pm on November 12.

Investigating officer PC Ryan Hutchings said: “The children and their mother were left distressed after the incident and I am very keen to speak to anyone who was travelling in this particular tube carriage and may have witnessed the incident.

“If you have any information about this incident please contact 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016 citing reference 84 of 28 December.”
