Get reading: London children win our book review contest

27 July 2013

Two London children have won state-of-the-art eReaders for their schools after coming first in the Evening Standard’s book review competition.

Myles Lewis, 10, from St Joseph’s Catholic junior school in Wembley impressed judges with his review of Nightrise by Anthony Horowitz.

Eight-year-old Cameron Montier-Wrightson of All Souls Primary in Marylebone stood out for his review of Horton Hears A Who! by Dr Seuss.

The avid readers both won five NOOK eReaders for their schools.

The competition was launched to celebrate the giant Trafalgar Square reading festival, organised by the Evening Standard in partnership with NOOK, when more than 18,000 people turned up to watch celebrities including Hugh Grant and Lily Cole read from their favourite children’s books.

To enter the contest schools submitted book reviews written by pupils in years three to six.
