The average Londoner only enjoys ten days of relaxation per year due to their schedules and time consuming jobs.

And when they do relax they begin to feel anxious if they haven't checked their phone three times a minute.

A new study has revealed that most Londoners have around 37 minutes of down-time a day, equating to 231 hours per year - just under ten days.

As a result of the fast-paced lifestyle almost 80 per cent admit to feeling constantly anxious.

The research, commissioned by Belgian beer firm Leffe, highlighted that mobile phones are one of the leading causes of anxiety in the country.

Increasing reliance on technology meant that Brits questioned admitted to feeling stressed after going just 20 seconds without checking their phones.

Despite the fact that people can't bear to be without their phones for long, 25 per cent of the city feel so pressed for time that they can't even reply to a message and are forced to respond with a simple emoji.
