Top London private hospitals to be sold

 

Two of the biggest private hospitals in London were today set to be put up for sale after an inquiry into a lack of competition in private healthcare.

The Competition Commission recommended that operators HCA should sell London Bridge and Princess Grace hospitals to increase choice and cut costs for patients and their medical insurance firms.

But HCA and rival BMI, ordered to sell seven of its hospitals including some in Greater London, are likely to challenge the proposal in court.
