20-year-old arrested on suspicion of plotting terrorist acts

Armed police have arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of plotting terrorist acts.

The suspect was arrested in north-west London at 6.30pm on Thursday, according to Scotland Yard.

Detectives from the Met Police Counter Terrorism Command were assisted by the firearms command during the pre-planned operation.

He was detained by officers from the Firearms Command.

No one was injured.

The suspect is currently in custody at a south London police station under section 5 of the Terrorism Act.
