Boxer Amir Khan revealed that his Franck Muller watch was stolen in a gunpoint robbery on Monday night.

Khan said he was leaving a restaurant in East London, with his wife Faryal Makhdoom, when two men approached him with a gun, and demanded his watch.

On Twitter, he said: “Just had my watch taken off me at gun point in East London, Leyton.

“I crossed the road with Faryal, luckily she was few steps behind me. Two men ran to me, he asked for my watch whist having a gun pointed in my face. The main thing is we’re both safe.”

Police said: “At this very early stage there have been no arrests. An investigation has begun and police are following a number of enquiries.”

But how expensive was Khan’s watch, and how much does a Franck Muller watch cost?

But Franck Muller’s watches vary greatly in price – you can get one for the tenth of the price of Khan’s, or you can pay nearly 10 times as much.

According to luxury watch shop Frost of London, the least expensive Franck Muller watch they sell is the V41 Vanguard Slim Stainless Steel, which costs £7,500.

However, the most expensive watch they sell – the Vanguard Revolution 3 Skeleton – has a £680,000 price tag.

Frost of London’s best-selling Franck Muller watch is the V41 Vanguard Yachting Polished Stainless Steel (£9,600), followed by the V41 Vanguard Yachting Crazy Hours Stainless Steel (£17,800) and the V41 Vanguard Yachting Crazy Hours White Gold, Black Dial (£27,000).

Franck Muller was founded in Geneva by Franck Muller and Vartan Sirmakes “with the aim of creating exclusive timepieces characterised by complicated movements and original designs,” according to the brand’s website.

Muller studied at the Geneva School of Watch Making for four years, before unveiling his first wrist watches in 1983. He is known as the “Master of Complications” for creating watches with unique complicated movements.
