A river boat moored on the River Lea was left destroyed after a fire tore through the vessel.
Members of the public reported hearing a bang and explosion by the river, close to Bream Close, Tottenham, at 10.45pm last night.
London Fire Brigade crews found the 25 ft long boat alight in the river and worked quickly to put it out.
Crew manager Steve Hardy said: “The boat was well alight when firefighters arrived and quickly put the fire out, but the boat was severely damaged by the blaze.

“A propane gas cylinder inside the boat was cooled down and made safe.”
Four fire engines and 21 firefighters were required to calm the fire.
There were no reports of any injuries.
The cause is under investigation.
