The body of a teenager who vanished as he returned home after a concert more than a month ago has been found.

A Level student Conor O’Donoghue, 17, disappeared after visiting Camden with friends.

The pupil, from Tiffin School in Kingston, was last seen at about 5am on 8 December on Kew Bridge near his home, after getting off a night bus.

Police were called on Tuesday afternoon to reports of a body found floating in the Thames close to Chiswick Bridge, the next crossing down river from where Conor was last seen.

The body was recovered by an RNLI lifeboat crew.

Formal identification and a post-mortem is due to take place, but officers are not treating the death as suspicious.

Today it emerged that the body of another teenager was also recovered from the river on the same day, this time near Putney Bridge.

The body is believed to be that of Adrian Palaniciuc, who is also 17, from Hounslow, a Romanian national who had been in London for three months.

He was last seen near Richmond Bridge four days earlier. Police say they are not treating his death as suspicious.

Conor’s devastated parents, Brid and Tim, were today being comforted by their family.

He studied in the sixth form at Tiffin School in Kingston after transferring there from St Benedict’s School in Ealing.

A remembrance service was being held at Tiffin School today.

Headteacher Hilda Clarke informed pupils and staff by letter, saying: “Conor joined Tiffin School in the sixth form in September 2011 from St Benedict’s School in Ealing.

“He quickly established himself as a bright and able student who did very well in his AS studies and examinations.

“By the beginning of Year 13, Conor had decided that he would like to go on to university to study physics and he was showing all the promise of being able to fulfil these ambitions.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this very sad and distressing time.

“The school will join together to remember him and, with time, we will gather more formally to remember Conor and his life here at Tiffin School.”

His body was found a day after Conor’s mother made a desperate plea for information about her son, telling how their family was “devastated and worried”.

The student had left his home the previous evening after chatting with his father about the new term.

He left with his sister and walked to the Tube, parting company with her as she went to her youth group.

It was the last time a family member saw Conor.

Conor travelled with three friends to see The JB Conspiracy at The Underworld in Camden.

The gig finished at about midnight and he took night buses back home, getting off the N9 at Kew Bridge station. The last CCTV images showed him at 4.45am, and the last witness saw him at 5am.
