Boy, 11, has higher IQ than Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking

Genius: Aum Amin, 11

A boy aged 11 has discovered he has a higher IQ than his heroes Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking.

Aum Amin, from Wembley, registered 162 when he was tested by Mensa — the highest possible score for someone under 18, and two points higher than both Einstein and Hawking.

The Year Six pupil intends to study engineering and medicine at university and wants to design robots that can perform surgery on humans.

He said: “I am very happy and feel proud to have achieved such a good score, I am looking forward to joining Mensa.

"I have always put my 100 per cent efforts in the things I do and give my best shot. I keep my focus on the goal I want to achieve.”

Aum, a pupil at Swaminarayan School, Europe’s first independent Hindu School, sat the IQ exams at Birkbeck, University of London.

His score puts him in the top one per cent globally. He is also a keen cricketer, an accomplished chess player and researches history in his spare time.

His mother, Boskey Amin, who works as a programme manager for the NHS, said: “We’re really proud of him but he knows we are motivated to keep him grounded, he knows he has a long way to go to follow in the footsteps of his heroes, Einstein and Hawking.

“With homework we don’t need to watch over him.

"He might ask us a question sometimes, but a lot of the time we don’t have a clue what he is working on as it is so advanced.”
