Police have launched an investigation after a man attempted to expose himself to a woman on the London Underground.

The man raised his leg on the handrail and began rubbing his groin while sitting opposite a woman on the Central Line between Mile End and Bethnal Green on Monday, May 8.

The victim confronted him before moving to a different part of the carriage after he tried to expose himself.

He later began shouting at her as he stepped off the train at Bethnal Green.

Officers have released CCTV of a man they say may have information which could help their investigation.

Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 181 of 08/05/23.

Alternatively they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
