The streets of Crouch End have been turned into rivers, after a water main burst on Crouch Hill this morning.

Crouch Hill is closed to cars from the Broadway to Christchurch Road, and bus routes W5 and W7 have been forced to divert in order to avoid the area.

Crouch Enders have taken to Twitter to share dramatic pictures of water-logged streets, and to report the problem to Thames Water.

Nicholas Juttner ‏said: "Burst main on Crouch Hill N8. Pavement buckled and water and detritus pouring down road."

Thames Water has sent technicians down to investigate the leak, and tackle the clean-up operation.

Those passing through the area have been warned to expect delays.
