A cyclist has died in hospital a month after being knocked down in Wimbledon.
City accountant Andrew Bonham, 29, lost his fight for life on Monday following the crash on December 20 which left him with severe brain injury. He was due to get married this year.
A relative told the Standard: “No one should die at 29. Someone with their whole life ahead of them. It is very hard. No words can justify what a good person Andrew was.
"He was meant to be getting married, have a honeymoon, and spend the rest of his life together with his fiancée. That has now been taken away.”
The keen amateur cyclist, originally from Guildford, worked for financial services group BNY Mellon. He previously worked as a financial accountant at Old Mutual Global Investors.
Mr Bonham’s family today appealed for witnesses to come forward as his father paid tribute on Facebook.
He wrote: “He was involved in a cycle car accident in London on the 20th of December. He had massive brain damage and while in a coma he died two days ago.
“How much prouder can a father be, than to have had a son who was taller, faster, stronger, more qualified than me. I miss you an awful lot. Your life mattered, thank you for sharing it with us all.”
He added: “What a kind and pleasant man he was. Andrew I hope where you are there are mountains to enjoy cycling through.”
Scotland Yard said today that officers are still appealing for information from anyone who saw the collision at 7.08am on December 20 in Parkside, Wimbledon.
They also appealed to motorists who may have captured the incident on a dashcam. The driver of the car stopped at the scene.

A teenager was killed yesterday after being hit by a coach as he crossed a busy road in south London. The 18-year-old was crushed under a National Express coach in the crash on London Road, Mitcham, just after 1pm.
