Pedestrian, 72, killed in crash in Dagenham

A 72-year-old woman was struck down and killed in a crash involving a van in east London.

Officers were called to Princess Parade, Dagenham, shortly before 11am on Thursday to reports of a collision involving a van and a pedestrian.

The pensioner was found with life threatening injuries and died at the scene despite emergency services’ best efforts.

Police, the London Ambulance Service and and the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) attended the scene.

A Met spokesperson said: ”Her next of kin have been informed.

“The driver stopped at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made.”
