A Deliveroo driver has been turning heads as he makes deliveries around London on a rather unusual mode of transport.
The man, who appears to be in his 60s, has been spotted delivering takeaways for the company while riding a Penny Farthing.
Pictures have been posted to social media of the man riding the Victorian bike around London's streets with the distinctive blue Deliveroo rucksack strapped to his back.
He has so far been seen out and about in Kensington and riding through Trafalgar Square.
His bicycle was also been spotted leaning outside a Kensington pub, with the trademarked backpack beside it.
The company delivers food from thousands of restaurants which do not have their own delivery service, with riders who make the deliveries travelling by motorcycle or bicycle.
Deliveroo charges customers £2.50 per delivery, and counts the likes of Pizza Express, Byron burgers and Gourmet Burger Kitchen among its clients.
The company recently hit the headlines for paying its delivery drivers low wages.
A new contract announced in May means that drivers now get paid just £3.75 per delivery, rather than their current wage of £7 per hour and £1 commission per delivery.
The new pay deal has been branded as a “return to Victorian Britain” by the Labour party, and saw riders in London stage a protest earlier this week.
Defending the move, Deliveroo's UK & Ireland managing director Dan Warne said: "We want to be clear that this is a trial happening in certain parts of London.
"We are engaging with riders who work within those trial areas to get their feedback and listen to their concerns.
"We're committed to having an open conversation about our trial, our payment model and delivery experience for riders."
