Appeal after man shouts transphobic abuse on East Croydon tram

Police have issued an appeal after a man shouted transphobic abuse at a victim on a tram in East Croydon.

The shocking incident took place as the victim travelled to Church Street at 11.15pm on Friday, March 3.

The man shouted abuse at the victim and then spat at them as they left the tram.

Officers have released a picture of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 2300024905.
