East Ham: teenage boy fighting for life after stabbing

A teenage boy is fighting for his life tonight after being stabbed in east London.

The 16-year-old was rushed to hospital in an ambulance and he is now being urgently assessed by doctors.

Police officers and ambulance crews arrived on the scene, on High Street South in East Ham, at 8:51pm following reports of a stabbing.

A crime scene is currently in place and Met police have confirmed they are launching an investigation into the incident.

A Met police spokesman said the boy appeared to be in a "critical condition".

No arrests have been made yet and enquiries continue.
