Eight men police wanted to speak to in connection with an attack on a Good Samaritan are being questioned today, police said.

A man was assaulted at West Ham station as he came to the aid of a woman who was reportedly being harassed.

Police issued an appeal to trace a group of men seen on CCTV. British Transport Police said eight men, aged between 19 and 26, attended an east London police station voluntarily.

Six of the men will be interviewed today and another two questioned tomorrow. No arrests have been made.

Detective Constable Paul Miller said: “I would like to thank the public for their response to widespread media coverage of this appeal, which led to the men contacting police.”
