Elderly woman, 86, dies after coach collision in Wandsworth

A woman has died after a collision with a bus.

An elderly woman has died after a collision with a coach in south London.

The pedestrian, 86, was taken to hospital after the incident on Upper Richmond Road in Wandsworth on Monday evening but later died.

There have been no arrests, the Metropolitan Police Service's Wandsworth branch said.

In a tweet the force said: "Police were called at 19:44hrs on Monday, 1 July to Upper Richmond Road SW15 following reports of a road traffic collision involving a bus and an elderly female pedestrian. Officers attended with LAS.

"The woman, aged 86, was taken to hospital, where she died a short time later. Her next of kin are aware. There have been no arrests."

Police advised motorists to use alternative routes, saying road closures are in place and extensive traffic disruption is expected.
