Video footage from the scene shows smoke pouring into the street, with road closures put in place.

Station Manager Paul Eastland is at the scene, he said: "There is a lot of visible smoke coming from the fire so residents and local businesses are advised to keep their windows shut.

"Local road closures are in place from Rosebery Avenue to Farringdon Road so drivers are being advised to avoid the area."

The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
