An audience at the final day of fashion show London Collections: Men were soaked this afternoon by a heating pipe which burst in the Old Sorting Office on New Oxford Street.

The incident, which took place at around 12 noon in the minutes before tailor Oliver Spencer was due to showcase his collection, was said to be due to a heating pipe.

The pipe sprayed out luke warm water over those sat on the back rows of guests. Shrieks rang out as a six foot area was sprayed with water.

Puddles of steaming water could be seen below the benches as guests exited. While one attendee was said to have experienced mild burns to her leg, no one was seriously injured.

The British Fashion Council, who pride themselves on running a well organised event, acted quickly in ushering guests out of the venue and back into the waiting area.

Guests were treated to water, coffee and popcorn whilst they waited for the show to resume.
