An appeal to find a new home for a dog with a permanently sad face has been a success with 40 potential owners coming forward to adopt her.
Rottweiler cross Bless, who is the longest resident at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, struggled to find a new home because people were put off by her miserable expression.
Staff at the dog’s home released images of the mournful mutt in a bid to try and find her a new family.
A spokeswoman for the charity said she was proving to be popular and it looked like she will be adopted soon.
She said: “We have had about 40 enquiries for her. We are going through those requests at the moment and hopefully leading up to some introductions to her very soon.”
Bless, aged six-years-old, has been in the home for five months after she was found roaming the streets of London.
Rob Young, head of dog rehoming at Battersea, said: "Bless has a mournful face but a heart of gold - anyone who meets her can't believe what a gentle giant she is.
"Although she looks sad she is an absolute joy to be around - that's why it's so sad for us that she's still in kennels rather than happily established in a loving home."
