A north London woman who found a fox lying on her bed was so scared of the wild animal she called the police.

Brent officers were called to Campden Crescent in Wembley last night after the alarming find.

According to police, the animal had wandered into the house through an open door and sat down in the middle of the bed next to a box of tissues.

Too frightened to approach the animal herself, the woman called the cops.

When they arrived, officers closed all the doors apart from just one and managed to usher it back outside.

Afterwards, Brent police tweeted a picture of the animal, joking the resident had received an “unwanted guest”.

Disbelieving follower Fiona Bexon tweeted: “So someone actually called the police because they had a fox cub in their house? Plus you actually attended?”

The police replied: “Not something we would attend normally but officers were nearby and offered assistance. #wewearmanyhats

A spokesman for Brent police told the Standard: “No one was hurt and the fox was very frightened and not aggressive in any way.”

Other recent unusual sightings of foxes in the capital included one in a dishwasher and another getting on a London bus.
