A luxury Mercedes was left wedged between two London buses after a four vehicle crash in central London today.

Goodge Street was closed near the junction with Tottenham Court Road after the smash on Sunday morning.

Richard Beltran, who saw the aftermath of the pile-up, said the crash involved to Routemasters - dubbed 'Boris Buses' - as well as an Audi TT sports car and a Mercedes which is thought to have been operated as a minicab.

"You have got an Audi TT in the front, and the Routemaster's gone into the back of that," he said.

"An executive Mercedes has then gone into the back of the Boris Bus and has then been shunted by another Boris Bus.

"There are no ambulances but the road's shut," he added.

A spokesman for the Met said: "Police were called at approximately 11.35 on Sunday to Goodge Street at the junction with Tottenham Court Road following reports of a collision involving several vehicles, including two buses.

"Officers, London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade attended. The driver and passenger of a Mercedes were treated at the scene."

There have been no arrests, police said.
