A stowaway on a British Airways flight bound for Heathrow is yet to be identified nearly a month after he plunged to his death.

The man’s body was found on the roof of the headquarters of NotOnTheHighStreet.com in Kew Road, Richmond, at about 9.35am on June 18.

A Metropolitan Police Service spokeswoman confirmed this morning the man, who is believed to have hidden on a flight from Johannesburg to the west London airport, has not yet been identified.

A postmortem examination into the man’s death concluded he died as a result of “multiple injuries” and a pathologist said he had survived most of the journey but died before he fell to the ground.

A second male stowaway, believed to be in his 20s, was found unconscious after the plane landed at Heathrow at the end of its 5,600 mile journey.

He was taken to hospital where, the Met said, he remains in a critical condition.

A British Airways spokesman said they were working with police and other authorities to “establish the facts surrounding this very rare case”.

In September 2012, Jose Matada, a 26-year-old stowaway from Mozambique, fell to his death from the undercarriage of a flight from Angola to Heathrow and his body was found in Portman Avenue, East Sheen – less than two miles from the latest incident.
