Giant Hippo sculpture to float on the Thames for the next four weeks

A giant wooden hippopotamus will provide an unusual addition to views of the Thames this month as the sculpture spends four weeks floating on the water.

Renowned Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman has created the HippopoThames sculpture that will be on show today at Nine Elms on the southbank.

Totally Thames is a 30 day event, stretching over 42 miles which hosts over 100 free events along and on the River Thames.

Presented by Thames Festival, Totally Thames are spending one month to celebrate art and culture.

The Florentijn Hofman Commission will be on show until September 28.
