A cyclist has died after being hit by a lorry on a busy road in central London.

The man, aged in his mid-60s, was involved in a collision in High Holborn at about 9.30am during the Wednesday morning rush hour.

A Met Police spokesman said that officers were in the process of tracing his next of kin and added that no arrests have been made.

Long tailbacks were reported in the area as TfL warned that the road would be closed for several hours.
