A Volvo driver had a lucky escape after flattening a bus stop in north London this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Kenton Road just after 11am today to reports of a crash involving two vehicles.

A Brent Police spokesman confirmed the crash was caused by one of the drivers attempting an overtaking manoeuvre,

He said: "Thankfully no one was waiting for the bus, otherwise potential for multiple injuries.

"The driver of the crashed car overtook another vehicle and didn't have enough time to join his lane of traffic again safely.

"He hit another car as he forced his way back in and crashed into the bus stop and flattened it shortly after."

The driver of the car hit by the volvo was treated at the scene for shock.

The Volvo driver remained at the scene and was reported to police for dangerous driving.

No-one pedestrians were injured in the incident.
