A pedestrian was injured after being hit by a motorbike in central London, less than an hour before a second accident at the same junction.

The woman was struck in Marylebone Road at the junction with Gloucester Place, close to Baker Street and Marylebone stations, at about 12.10pm.

London's Air Ambulance attended the scene and the woman was treated for a foot injury.

A second crash at the same junction involved a car and pedestrian at about 1pm. Police said there were no serious injuries.

The collisions caused serious disruption on one of central London's major roads and police advised drivers to avoid the area.

This page was updated at 2.59pm when The Standard received updated information that a motorcyclist was involved, not a cyclist.
