This monstrous six-wheeled extreme off-road vehicle turned heads when it was spotted parked in a side street in south London.

Worth £370,000, the colossal Mercedes G63 AMG 6x6 was snapped spilling out of its slot in Southwark yesterday.

Southwark Council confirmed the owner of the German-registered vehicle had been issued with a valid disabled parking badge after one was spotted in the car's windscreen.

The pick-up truck is an even more rugged version of an earlier Mercedes engineered for the Australian army.

It has 536 brake horse power and a twin turbo-charged 5.5-litre V8 engine.

The huge car, which does 15 miles to the gallon, stood out particularly as it was pictured next to an electric car charging dock in Holland Street.

Motoring experts say the vehicle is best used on the wide-open spaces of the Dubai desert, suggesting it might not be best suited to the rush hour commute through London.
