Metropolitan Police officers perform 'running man' challenge as craze sweeps internet

Dozens of Metropolitan Police officers have taken on the popular ‘running man’ challenge as the craze continues to sweep the internet.

The video, filmed at the Met Police training school in Hendon, was created after the gauntlet was laid down by Police Scotland.

It shows two rows of officers dancing in between police vans as a squad car with blue flashing lights drives through the middle of them.

The car stops before another officer in full riot gear steps out and launches his own dancing exploits.

The videos, performed by police forces around the world, began when one department in New Zealand made a light-hearted attempt to attract more recruits.

So far, more than eight million people have seen the clip which was done to the sound of Ghost Town DJ's 1996 hit My Boo.

Police Scotland laid down the challenge to the Met earlier this week after it was nominated to perform its own video.

The Met’s video has been viewed more than 785,000 times on Facebook and has received nearly 16,000 shares since it was uploaded on Friday afternoon.
