Notting Hill crash: Cyclist 'seriously injured' in collision with van in west London

A cyclist has been seriously injured after a crash with a van in west London, police said.

The male cyclist, whose age is unknown, was knocked down on Holland Park Avenue, near Notting Hill Gate Tube station, shortly after 3pm.

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: "Police were called at 15:23pm on Wednesday, October 14, to a collision between a cyclist and a van in Holland Park Avenue, W11.

"The male cyclist has been taken to hospital suffering serious head injuries. We await an assessment of his condition."

Police have closed the main road between Pembridge Road and Ladbroke Terrace.
