A pedestrian is fighting for his life in hospital after being struck by a car in east London.
The man, believed to be in his 50s, collided with the car in East India Dock Road, at the junction with Leamouth Road, in Tower Hamlets, at about 7.45am this morning.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital in an ambulance.
A spokeswoman for the police said he was in a “critical condition” and was suffering from possible “life-changing injuries”.
A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 7.40am to reports of a road traffic collision near East India Dock Road and Blackwall Tunnel Approach.
"We sent a single responder by car, an ambulance crew, a duty officer and a medical team from London's Air Ambulance by car to the scene.
"He was taken as a priority to the Royal London hospital, by road ambulance, escorted by the doctor from London's Air Ambulance."

Roads surrounding the scene were temporarily closed causing severe traffic delays in the area.
