Pick up parcels at the rail station

9 July 2013

Commuters may soon be able to pick up personal parcels from rail stations under new plans revealed today.

Network Rail is going into partnership with electronic locker specialist ByBox to put drop boxes at stations where people can collect goods ordered online. The scheme hopes to save commuters time and hassle travelling to a post office to pick up items initially delivered to their home addresses when they were at work.

The plan follows a trial that has been running at London’s Victoria station for three years.

ByBox co-founder Stuart Miller said: “The take-up was great and we have had to expand the locker bank.”
