Never-before-seen pictures from behind the scenes of film Pink Floyd: The Wall were revealed today.

An exhibition of 40 pictures will go on show at a Shoreditch gallery this Saturday.

The pictures feature the opening of the film where Pink, the rockstar protagonist played by Sir Bob Geldof, lies among the collected and lined-up debris from the trashed hotel room.

Another surreal image depicts a man watching television in the middle of the countryside.

A behind-the-scenes production image of masked schoolchildren singing Another Brick in the Wall Part 2 will also be exhibited.

The film premiered in the UK 30 years ago on the 14 July.

The black and white photographs were taken by David Appleby, a photographer commissioned to document the making of the film.

The stills were discovered in a Pinewood Film Studios storeroom, where they were originally shot and developed.

Behind ‘The Wall’ Retrospective will host a preview night on 12th July at Blackall Studios, Leonard Street, Shoreditch before opening to the public on 13th-18th July.

The exhibition will then move to The Photographer’s Lounge in Dorset on 3rd August.
