Pippa Middleton's book slashed to half-price - now she's outsold by the Highway Code

Amazon has slashed the price of Pippa Middleton's party-planning book to half-price after it plummeted to 189th on its bestseller list.

The book, Celebrate, has been reduced from £25 to £12  less than one month after its release.

Pippa, 29,  launched the book with a fanfare in London on October 25, but it now being outsold by a Tom Daley calendar and The Highway Code.

The 416-page tome aims to teach people how to throw parties for various occasions all year round and has been described on Amazon as a "fully illustrated and beautifully designed book packed with recipes, crafts and inspirational ideas".

However, it came in for extensive criticism over its "banal" advice, which includes suggestions such as playing pass the parcel to entertain children and that: "Turkeys are perfect for feeding larger gathering".

One reviewer blasted: "You would think, with the amount of PR and media interest in the author of this book, that she might have written her book carefully, or perhaps even taken some expert advice. Seemingly, not so.

"For reasons best known to Miss Middleton, she has travelled the globe, shamelessly promoting an unbelievable pile of rubbish. The book is uninspiring, verging on insulting."

The release of Pippa's book has led to the creation of several online parodies including a Twitter account dedicated to "Pippa Middleton Tips".
