A cyclist has died after a collision with a car in north-east London on Sunday and a second was admitted to hospital this morning after a crash just a few hundred yards away.

The man, aged 52, was pronounced dead at the scene after the incident, in Woodford Green at around 1.30pm after Sunday's incident.

London Air Ambulance and paramedics attended but were unable to save him. A woman who was driving the car stopped at the scene and spoke to police, but was not arrested.

The cyclist has not yet been formally identified, and police said they are making enquiries to trace and inform his next of kin.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened on Woodford High Road, near the junction with Forest Approach.

Another cyclist in his 50s was also involved in a collision with a car at a roundabout in Woodford Green this morning. He was taken to the Royal London Hospital "as a priority" with a head injury, the London Ambulance Service said.

Any witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to call traffic officers on 0208 597 4874. or police on 101.
