A car ploughed into a pedestrian and then a cyclist in a crash in west London during this morning's rush hour.

Police have issued an appeal for the cyclist, who is thought to have been injured in the collision, to come forward.

The Met said officers were called to Staines Road at the junction with Cromwell Road just before 9am.

A pedestrian in his 50s was taken to a west London hospital with a serious leg injury, but the cyclist has not been traced. A Sacremento Stateline Freespirit mountain bike was left at the scene.

The cyclist is described as an Asian male with a beard and was wearing a beanie hat and navy jacket.

The driver of the car involved stopped at the scene of the collision and is assisting police with their enquiries.
