Police probe after woman's body pulled from Welsh Harp Reservoir

Police have launched an investigation after a woman's body was pulled from a London reservoir.

The woman, believed to be in her 50s, was pulled from the Welsh Harp Reservoir in Barnet on Thursday morning.

Scotland Yard said her death was being treated as “unexplained”.

Police divers and local officers were called to Cool Oak Lane in Hendon shortly after 10am to reports of a body in the water.

The woman has not been formally identified and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

Police in Barnet are investigating and said enquiries are ongoing.

The Welsh Harp Reservoir is a 170 hectare expanse of open water, marshes, trees and grassland and has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
