A pair of YouTube pranksters managed to blag a joy ride through the streets of central London in a gold-plated Ferrari owned by a world kick boxing champion.

The two friends named Thomas and Ammar, from Montreal, Canada, filmed themselves shamelessly approaching the drivers of luxury supercars parked in Mayfair and Knightsbridge and asking them for a ride.

After two hours, the duo almost succeeded when an apparent member of Saudi Arabia’s royal family agreed to take them for a spin in his purple Lamborghini before his security team stepped in.

Undeterred after a string of rejections, the video shows them heading to Knightsbridge where they spot the gold-plated Ferrari parked outside the Harrods department store.

The Ferrari 458 Spider, worth around £200,000, belongs to Iraqi kickboxing world champion Riyadh Al-Azzawi.

Dozens of people had stopped to take photographs of the car, which is coated in gold vinyl, on their mobile phones.

After tracking Al-Azzawi down inside the department store, one of the YouTubers asked him: “The Ferrari is yours right? Everybody is staring at it.

“Is there any way I can come with you and take a ride and film it from the inside as you drive?”

To their surprise, he agreed to take them for a spin.

As they clamber out of the extravagant car, one of them can be heard exclaiming: “I don’t think I can ever top that.”

In their video, they wrote: “Being told no is often a blessing in disguise.

“There are an endless amount of supercars in London, so while we were there we wanted to get a ride in the most luxurious one we could possibly find.

“Who knew how many times we’d get denied and what that would lead to.”

The short clip appears to have been filmed in the summer when many of the drivers are known to ship their cars over from Arab countries at huge costs.

It was uploaded to YouTube on Sunday by the group who are known as Yes Theory.

The video ends with Al-Azzawi shaking their hands before he drives away.
