Prince Harry is to join England’s army of World Cup fans when he visits Brazil in June.

Kensington Palace today announced a series of foreign trips for the prince that will also see him visit Chile and Estonia for the first time.

Harry, 29, was last in Brazil in 2012 to boost the links between London and the next Olympic city host, Rio de Janeiro.

Full details of his latest trip remain under wraps but it is understood that it will include a World Cup match. England’s first game of the tournament is against Italy on June 14.

Harry this morning gave the Olympic Park in Stratford the royal seal of approval, saying: "I love it."

The venue has been renamed the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and formally reopens tomorrow. It will host the Invictus Games for wounded service personnel in September.

Harry and Mayor Boris Johnson — accompanied by pupils from Carpenters, Gainsborough and Colgrave junior schools — tested the play facilities, going on a huge swing and a rope bridge. Asked by Mr Johnson what he thought of the new park, the prince said: "I love it, it’s really great it really is. I can’t wait to see it full of people and for the Invictus Games."

When asked whether he would bring baby nephew Prince George to the park, he said: "That would probably cause chaos wouldn’t it?

"I’m sure he’ll have his chance to come down here. You never know, the Olympics might be back here before we know it." Mr Johnson declared the park "fantastic", and added: "It’s even better than I thought it possibly could be. This incredible transformation has created a stunning park that Londoners can be truly proud of."

Harry’s visit to South America will be preceded in May by trips to Estonia and Italy. All are in support of the British Government and are being organised by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. In Estonia he will thank the Estonian defence forces for their support of British troops in Afghanistan and meet wounded soldiers, some of whom have been treated at Headley Court in Surrey.

He will join events commemorating the Second World War on his trip to Italy, including the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Monte Cassino, which saw the Allies involved in some of the most hostile fighting of the war.

Christopher Holtby, the British Ambassador in Estonia, said: "The visit by Prince Harry will mean a lot to the people here."
