'At least you’re all legitimate,' quips Prince Philip at new King's Cross family planning centre

Prince Philip today showed off his mischievous sense of humour joking with staff at a family planning centre, “at least you’re all legitimate”.

The Duke of Edinburgh shared the joke with medical staff as he opened the Margaret Pyke Centre in King’s Cross – the third time in 45 years the prince has opened its doors in three different locations.

Claire Murdoch, chief executive of the Central North West London NHS Foundation Trust which runs the centre, thanked the prince, saying: “It’s to be admired that your Royal Highness supported our work when it was more controversial and ground-breaking. This makes your return today all the more impressive and appreciated.”

Around 750 people a week are expected to visit the centre.
