Prince William’s best friend Guy Pelly goes global with his raunchy club

It’s the raunchy club night featuring a burlesque lesbian sex show and scantily clad models that has seen Guy Pelly criticised for bad taste.

But far from backing down, Prince William’s best friend has defended the risqué “Do Not Disturb” night at his Sloane Square club Tonteria, and revealed that he is taking it global.

In a series of lucrative global deals, Pelly is taking his “Lesbians, Mexican porn and latex” concept to exclusive clubs in Paris, Milan, Monaco and St Tropez next year, starting with Paris’s Sass Café in February.

Pelly, who made his name at royal favourite hangouts Mahiki and Public, says “Do Not Disturb” has been his most successful night to date, with long queues outside Tonteria since it launched on Thursday nights nine weeks ago.

He told the Standard the criticism has been unfair. “We always wanted to do something that was pushing it, but that was tasteful and fun,” says Pelly. “We’re not a strip club and we never want to be a strip club. We’re not talking that raunchy, you know, for one thing, we haven’t got a strip licence so it can’t be.”

Pelly says it is “actually an entertaining evening and an entertaining show,” adding that he has resisted the temptation to make it more raunchy in its new exotic locations. “I think we do want to keep the balance, I think it’s the right balance. I don’t want to offend anyone.”

Pelly told the Standard: “I am not the new Stringfellow, not at all. I haven’t got his mullet either.”
