Revealed: Map of new Night Overground shows 24-hour stations - but there is no link to Victoria line Night Tube

A map of London's new Night Overground has revealed the east London stations that will be linked up to the service.

The round-the-clock service on Fridays and Saturdays will launch between New Cross Gate in south London and Dalston Junction om December 15.

A map of the new service was released on Monday, showing revellers where they can expect to travel for nights out in the east of the capital.

But the map revealed there was no link to the Victoria line, one of the Night Tube services which shares an interchange with the Overground.

The Overground's nights services will terminate at Dalston Junction. Just two stops further is Highbury and Islington, which links to the Victoria line.

The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan announced the new Night Overground on Monday to great fanfare.

He said: “I’m delighted that we can bring night services to the east London line for the first time ever next month.

“The Night Tube has proven such a success with Londoners, I know the Night Overground will help thousands more who are working through the night or out enjoying our capital’s nightlife.”

It follows the Night Tube, which was first launched on the Central line last August after a string of rows over pay and safety between the four major rail unions and Transport for London.

The Night Tube, which now supports 2,000 jobs, runs on Friday and Saturday nights and the early hours of Saturday and Sunday mornings on the entire Victoria and Jubilee lines as well as parts of the Central, Northern and Piccadilly lines.

The new late-night Overground, which launches on December 15, will link with the Jubilee line night services at Canada Water.

The 24-hour services will operate on Friday and Saturday nights on the London Overground between New Cross Gate and Dalston Junction.

However, eventually the Night Overground will link up with the Victoria line.

Night services on the line will extend from two stops further to Highbury & Islington from January, linking the Overground trains with the Victoria line.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said he was “delighted” to announce the service, which will run on the seven mile stretch of rail.
