Ricky Gervais to leave (the other) office

Jaymi McCann11 January 2013

Comedian Ricky Gervais will have to leave his Hampstead office because of plans to turn the space into flats.

The Office star has used the apartment off Heath Street as a writing base for the past four years with Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington from An Idiot Abroad.

But in March Gervais, 51, who sublets the office from estate agent Savills, will be asked to leave as the landlord prepares to turn it into a flat.

The firm’s lease on the two-storey building came to an end last March. The owner has now won planning permission from Camden council to turn it into two flats.

Gervais was unavailable for comment.
