A five-day "no parking" extension outside St Mary's Hospital sent the media into a frenzy today as the wait for the Royal birth threatened to enter its second calendar month.

Westminster Council has apparently increased the restrictions around the private Lindo wing of the Paddington hospital until May 5.

They were originally due to run out today, having been in place since April 15, but the delay of the baby's arrival has seemingly forced the authority's hand.

Meanwhile Kensington Palace's official Twitter account has been accused of "trolling" followers by posting a "throwback Thursday" picture of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge introducing Prince George to the world.

The Duchess was rumoured to have been due late last week, and the first Royal enthusiasts gathered outside the hospital on April 1.

But William and Kate's wedding anniversary - April 29 - came and went, and now Royal superfan Terry Hutts is spending his 80th birthday waiting outside the hospital. Today is the 11th day he has been there.
