Counter-terrorism police have arrested a second man after stopping a terror suspect from boarding a flight to Turkey at Stansted Airport.

A 64-year-old man was held at a business address in north London on Thursday on suspicion of preparing for acts of terrorism.

His arrest is linked to a 37-year-old man, held at the airport on Tuesday, who police believe was planning to travel to Syria.

Both men, who have not been identified, are being held at a south London police station under the Terrorism Act.

Their arrests not connected to the Manchester Arena suicide bombing, Scotland Yard said.

A warrant to detain the 37-year-old man for further questioning was granted on Thursday.

Officers involved in the investigation have also searched a house in north London.
